Token Corporation commissioned world-renowned architect Kisho Kurokawa to design Sakae Tower Hills. These hand-drawn sketches and computer-generated images reflect the concept design Kurokawa completed. If Kurokawa had been granted a few more years, Sakae Tower Hills might have been his final creation as an architect.
After Kurokawa passed away in 2007, design of Sakae Tower Hills briefly came to a halt. However, Token Corporation was able to use his conceptual design to distill the current design of Sakae Tower Hills.
Ever since Token Corporation invited Kisho Kurokawa to provide architectural technical advice, he has provided a great many architectural designs, from designs for clients to the building that is the company's headquarters and the Chikusa Tower Hills building.
The philosophies behind his architectural designs, grounded in "free design" and "high-quality design" to achieve "symbiosis," have had a profound influence on Token Corporation, which continues to employ them to this day.
Token Corporation is deeply grateful to Kisho Kurokawa for his work and has cherished his design for Sakae Tower Hills.
Kisho Kurokawa was an architect who hailed from Aichi Prefecture.
In 1986, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the French Académie d'Architecture, equivalent to the Nobel Prize of architecture.
